“Lawyers are advocates, and in order to do our jobs well we have to be
experienced, skilled and credible. Let me put these skills to work for you.”

2866345Brad Sherman oversees all legal matters at the firm. “I value honesty, trust and fairness and work hard to assure my clients that their trust in me is well placed.”

Board certification: I have been board certified since 2003 by the Florida Bar in the area of criminal trial law. Board Certification allows you to weed out the attorneys who avoid trials. Don’t be surprised by the fact that the majority of criminal defense attorneys avoid trial work, and they mislead their Clients about that fact. You must ask your attorney about his or her past trials: the case numbers, the dates the case went to trial, the facts and issues involved and the results. Common sense tells you that a prosecutor would not be inclined to make a generous plea offer to an attorney who is known to never go to trial.

I have a wide range of experience as both a prosecutor and a Seminole County criminal defense attorney. Do not be put off by the fact that I once prosecuted criminal cases. This serves a very important role for my current representation of criminal defense clients. I know the system better because of my five years as a prosecutor. My years of prosecuting did not create a bias in favor of law enforcement. To the contrary, I have seen countless examples of prosecutorial misconduct and I would be glad to share those experiences with you.

15 years of experience: I have been practicing law since 1997. My first year out of law school I was doing Insurance Defense work, and I soon realized I took no satisfaction in helping insurance companies save money. It is difficult to watch all those insurance commercials on television. Let’s be realistic – they are only interested in the appearance of caring about you – but they are truly only interested in making money. I have no problem with the concept of making money, but I choose to be honest and upfront about such matters.

One-on-one attention: Let me say, if you have ever hired an attorney in the past then you will be pleasantly surprised about the one-on-one attention you get with me. I am communicating with my clients everyday (including weekends) by telephone, email and text messaging.

Straightforward advice: When you meet me, you will find that I am respectful but direct. Again, I have spoken to countless people who have shared stories with me about not getting the most important information from their prior attorneys. I have always felt compelled to tell people everything they need to know to help them solve a problem. I do this in both my personal and professional life. By the way, being completely candid in my personal life does not work out as well for me as compared to doing it in my professional life.
